Job Description	Job Category:  Legal & Corporate Affairs Location: United States, WA, Redmond Job ID: 715217 13969 Division: Legal & Corporate Affairs This Job is eligible for the following work arrangements :Job Share The Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCA) team has an immediate opening for an attorney to lead the delivery of legal support to Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Business (WEB), and to also lead the delivery of legal support to the marketing groups in Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business (MCB). WEB is responsible for product development and marketing for the entire range of Microsoft embedded software operating system products and related services. MCB is responsible for product development and marketing for Windows Phone products and related services. Responsibilities will include: Leading role in the delivery of legal counseling to WEB executives and their teams on a broad range of complex legal, business, and strategic issues, including issues related to intellectual property protection and licensing, interoperability and standards, and applicable regulatory frameworks. This position includes responsibility for coordinating with internal and external legal and non-legal expert resources, as necessary, to drive the analysis and resolution of relevant issues. Lead counselor for the support of WEB development, marketing and distribution programs, including primary responsibility for negotiating and drafting agreements pertaining to inbound and outbound licensing, provision of services, and collaboration with partners. Managing and delivering education and training to the WEB development and marketing organizations on relevant legal issues. Working with the other attorneys and paralegals on the WEB legal team to provide comprehensive legal services to all levels of the supported businesses, including development of process-related improvements to facilitate and increase the efficiency of legal services. Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic credentials. 4+ years experience as a practicing commercial attorney is required. 6+ years as a practicing commercial attorney with experience in intellectual property counseling, licensing and transactions is preferred. Experience with copyright, trademark, interoperability, standards, advertising and/or regulatory counseling is preferred. Outstanding analytical, writing and oral communication skills, as well as strong record of effective collaboration across distinct legal and business groups. Sound and practical business judgment, ability to think strategically, and desire to establish a “trusted advisor” relationship with executives and key business clients. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations. Ability to solve problems with a focus on achieving results that benefit our business as well as the businesses of our customers and partners. Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision, interfacing with a variety of personalities across a large number of diverse internal groups, teams, divisions, and cultures.
