Job Description | Position ID 20567 Location(s) OK - Oklahoma City Telecommute No Employment Status Full-Time Estimated Travel 10-25% Relocation Available No Job Summary Our Trial Attorneys represent our Insureds and Zurich North America in all phases of litigation. Duties include legal analysis and advice, preparation of legal pleadings and documents, legal research, preparation for and conducting pre-trial discovery, preparation for and conducting judicial hearings, civil jury trials and post-trial activities. Job Qualifications MUST HAVES: Qualified candidates must possess 5 or more years of Workers' Compensation litigation and courtroom experience (some 1st chair jury trial experience preferred), with substantial experience in Oklahoma. Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven trial settlement skills. Candidates must be admitted to the Oklahoma State bar. Additional preferred skills: 1. 1st and 2nd chair jury trial experience preferred. 2. Insurance defense experience, knowledge of the claims process and underwriting 3. Self-starter with proven experience as a member of a litigation 'team' 4. PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes, Access and CWS and significant knowledge of Lexis or Westlaw. 5. Should be well organized with good analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills 6. Ability to budget costs and calculate exposure. 7. Has knowledge of billables and diary review with substantive and procedural legal knowledge. 8. Understands the Staff Legal function and role in overall business.
