Role Summary/Purpose Reporting to the Sr. Counsel - Commercial/Antitrust, this position will be responsible for providing legal support and expertise for commercial law and real estate issues including commercial transactions, sourcing transactions, property and equipment sales and leases, creditors’ rights, and business regulation. Essential Responsibilities - Work with other members of the legal team to provide general business law support to GE Appliances & Lighting’s commercial and sourcing teams.- Provide preventative law and transaction support for commercial transactions, sourcing transactions, real estate and commercial law issues across the business.- Provide creditors’ rights and bankruptcy legal support to the business. - Work with other members of the legal team on substantial joint venture, business development and other transactions globally. Qualifications/Requirements - Minimum 5 years of experience in business law transactions and business regulation.- Working knowledge of UCC, creditors’ rights and real estate law.- Strong analytical and communications skills. - Creative; self starter, strong initiative.- Ability to integrate legal and business objectives.- Ability to deal effectively with people and to work in teams.- Solid work ethics and commitment to job completion.
