Role Summary/Purpose

Responsible for providing premier legal services to the Transportation Finance business.Structure, negotiate and close financing and lease transactions for all types of collateral including medium and heavy duty trucks. Assume a leading role in the development and organization of tools, processes and programs to create a more efficient deal environment. Work with other GE Capital Americas businesses and functions as required.
Essential Responsibilities

The individual will be an integral part of the business segment leadership team and Legal staff and will be responsible for delivering premier legal services to the business and outside counsel. The attorney accepting this position will have responsibility for:

    * Advising business management teams on a wide variety of legal issues related to corporate, compliance, business, deal structuring, acquisition transactions and employment matters.
    * Advising on business related regulatory issues and compliance matters.
    * Supervising litigation.
    * Assist managers in both market and product development.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

    * Bachelors Degree, J.D., with 7+ years experience in commercial and corporate lending.
    * Demonstrated leadership skills.
    * Able to work well independently or with a group.
    * Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to identify and prioritize issues and devise solutions.
      Eligibility Requirements:
    * Must be a member in good standing of one or more state bars or the D.C. bar
