Role Summary/Purpose The Counsel, Legal Affairs, will draft and negotiate contracts for NBC Universal’s cable television entertainment studio and networks, including license agreements, production services and co-production agreements, talent agreements, development agreements, marketing/promotional agreements, digital rights agreements, and similar documents. Essential Responsibilities * Draft, review, negotiate and interpret contracts and other documentation. * Create and update contract forms. * Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues, and propose practical, responsive solutions. * Partner with NBCU business executives to discuss and implement best practices and formulate new processes in connection with business needs. * Work with the Legal Affairs team on major projects with long-term business implications. * Other matters at the direction of the SVP and/or VPs, Legal. Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications: * Outstanding academic credentials (excellent academic record at top tier law school). * Member of New York bar. * A minimum of 3 years of entertainment, intellectual property, corporate, litigation, and/or other relevant subject matter expertise. * Must submit transcript and writing sample.Eligibility Requirements: * Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered (note job#: 1159867) * Willingness to work nights and on weekends if needed * Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation * Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work.
